Wow, Jungle Book 2 knockin 'em dead with $14 M! If Daredevil has less than $40 million, that gives me some hope that maybe it's not review-proof and that not any heavily-marketed, high-profile comic book adaptation will bring in the bucks that Spider-man did.

But I don't really care anyway.

Keep in mind though, that Spider-Man is a more popular character, so people will rush out on the first weekend to catch the flick...add the fact that it is February and keep in mind that friday was Valentine's Day, when a lot of guys who wanted to see Daredevil were made to see "how to lose a guy" instead because of a girlfriend... I think this opening will show the studios that they can open a picture based on a medium sized comic hero, and if the movie has lots of advertising buzz and really, some decent reviews, people will come.. I think DD will do really well overall...

Don't forget that people who went out and bought "X-Men 1.5" got a free ticket to see this movie or "X-Men 2".

I think Daredevil will end up a little worse off then how the first X-Men did, which had a pretty big drop after a large opening. Daredevil will get pretty decent numbers (i think ~40 million is great for the film) and slowly crawl to 100 million.

Yeah, there's definitely a lot of reasons why this SHOULDN'T do Spidey numbers. The reviews probably had nothing to do with it.
