The whole movie is great, but the first half has an intensity that seems to be lacking in the second part. Probably because, while there have been other great war movies, there's never been another movie that showed boot camp in such a way. Course, it's not like I've ever been in the service and know what basic training is like, but you know what I mean.

whole movie.
first 1/2 is fun for me 'cause I was in military-boarding-school, one of the toughtest in the country & it was like that(the movie's basic training) at times.
just watched it (the remastered version) a few weeks ago & noticed I turned up the sound probably louder than most all discs i've watched.
