There has never been a James Bond film worth watching. Ever.

"Schindler's List" is a plotless, plodding nightmare with zero character development that features some of the hammiest overacting ever put on screen by Liam Neeson.

Tom Hanks never progressed as an actor after "Big."

Blair Witch Project is a terrific, effective clever horror film.
Adam Sandler's movies are very often hilarious.
The Phantom Menace was much better than Attack of the Clones.
North is an excellent movie.

I'm certainly in the minority on most of those, I'd guess.

Maybe all the character development for "Schindler's List" is in the hour worth of footage that hit the cutting room floor.

I could moderately tolerate Tom Hanks in "A League of Their Own" - at least he was thin.

Magnolia is self-indulgent crap.
The Green Mile is a pointless snooze-fest.
The Lord of the Rings only makes me want the bad guys to kill the good guys quickly.
That is all I can think of at the top of my head.

Most Criterion Collection movies are pure crap if you ask me. Originality does not always exactly equal good.

Don't get me wrong I don't think these movies were amazing mindblowing flicks. I just think they were entertaining. Which is an "unpopular movie opinion" around here because every thinks these movies were garbage.

BTW, worst movies of last year IMO were Changing Lanes and Trapped. I've been meaning to give Changing Lanes another try but never got around to it. Not interested in seeing Trapped again.

Lord of the rings was the most overrated flick on the planet. It was ok - but just that. It was no where worthy of 11 Oscar nominations or the 300 million at the box office. The only justice in the world is that the Oscar committee realized what a snooze-fest it was and gave it the shaft.

The Matrix - that's so 1999. Get over it.

Bullet time parodys are not funny.

Bullet time effects are no longer cool and 'hip'.

Kung Fu style movies have been around for 35+ years now. Hollywood did not 'discover' this wonderful new style.

I totally agree with both statements.

And Adaptation sucked, there I said it.

Mulholland Drive was boring, vapid, and was, overall...a huge letdown.

I hate this flick, I hate this flick.

I hate the following movies:

Back to the Future; saw it too many times on TV

Wizard of Oz; How can anyone over the age of 5 enjoy this?

John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars; not a single line of intelligent or witty dialogue in the film

Philadelphia; What is so groundbreaking about a movie about a homosexual who gets AIDS from gay sex and then gets fired?

Requiem for a Dream is the biggest piece of imbecilic propagandistic crap it has ever been my misfortune to see.

To even pretend to make the plot "work" they had to make all four lead characters utter morons and Ellen Burstyn, incomprehensibly praised for playing the stupidist life form in the history of the Universe, was the worst.

I'll give it a half star for having some nice production values and effects but take it away for using those effects to nauseating, mindnumbing repetitiveness. I was almost at the point of gouging out my own eyes if I saw (and heard the sound effect for) that pupil dilating one more time.

(Hey, cool thread.)

I have to more or less agree with you. This movie had great potential but that was lost because it was so simplistic and totally unsubtle. Not a terrible movie but not very good.

Spiderman -I thought the CGI looked fake and I wasn't very entertained.

and...(ducks behind counter)...About Schmidt was boring. Although I really don't think I represented the target audience.

The Patriot is the worst film I have ever seen.
Mr. Deeds was a good, funny remake full of heart.
Goonies isn't fun, nor is it well-made, well-acted, or well-executed.
Superman is a bore.
In the Mouth of Madness and The Blair Witch Project are the direction in which horror should be heading.
A.I, Minority Report, and Catch Me if You Can are Spielberg's finest hour, with Jurassic Park and Empire of the Sun coming close behind.
Frank Capra is more important than John Ford.
Oliver Stone is the best technical filmmaker of all time.

Run Lola Run, Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, and Memento are ridiculously overrated and they are all going to age horribly.

A.I. is cinematic brilliance, including the perfect ending.
