Another vote for Swimfan. As soon as I saw the title I started laughing, then my friends started laughing, then the packed theatre started laughing. Doesn't get much better, plus I had just seen the entire plot and twists, so I never even considered seeing it. Convenient, no?

Seriously though, Episode 1 teaser was great. And the Dumb and Dumber trailer, while just clips from the movie, was absolutely hilarious.

The Internet trailer for Fight Club was awesome.

The Natural History Museum T-Rex skeleton trailer for Godzilla was fantastic, too bad the movie bit.

I remember seeing the preview for ROTJ when I was a kid in the theater and going nuts when I found out my hero Han Solo was alive and well! (I really wanted to know that above all else.)

I saw Fulci's The Beyond on a midnight movie and they showed a trailer for a film called "Massacre Mafia Style". It has two mafioso walking through an office building just shooting everyone and each shot punctuated by the title "Massacre Mafia Style". It was shocking at first but it just keeps going on and on. Eventually I started laughing so hard in the theater I embarassed myself.

Ransom had the most amazing trailer that it gave me goosebumps. Alas, it was way better than the movie. I do like the movie, but the trailer was awesome.

I'm surprised this hasn't been said it... Requiem for a Dream (the one with Everloving by Moby playing in the background) I remeber seeing it and just being utterly transfixed. Everything in that trailer worked so amazingly well, the somber song, the black on white quotes, EVERYTHING! I watched it like 5 times in a row just because I was so amazed by it (and the fact that I hadn't been able to go to it at the theater because I was 16... had to wait 5 months for the DVD release)

Dirty Rotten Scoundrals teaser. No footage of the movie just Cain and Martin walking down the street and boardwalk. The voice over talks about seeing a movie centered around distinguished, well mannered, gentlemen of fine taste, etc. And as they pass a old lady bent over petty her dog. The voice over states this is not that movie as Martin pushes the lady into the bay as he casually walks by.
