Really depressing movies?

I keep seeing movies that I thought were uplifting here . . .
To me, Sophie's Choice was depressing. Shindler's List though? Look at what Shindler did to save all those people--I thought it was awe inspiring and uplifting to see how much of a difference one man who cared could make.
Same with A Beautiful Mind--I thought it was the opposite of depressing. More like inspiring.
For me it's hard to think of too many depressing movies, but I do agree with neiname about The Phantom Menace. I would say that movie stole 2 hours of my life, but I did get a little nap in there, so it really only stole 1.
