I keep seeing movies that I thought were uplifting here . . .

To me, Sophie's Choice was depressing. Shindler's List though? Look at what Shindler did to save all those people--I thought it was awe inspiring and uplifting to see how much of a difference one man who cared could make.

Same with A Beautiful Mind--I thought it was the opposite of depressing. More like inspiring.

For me it's hard to think of too many depressing movies, but I do agree with neiname about The Phantom Menace. I would say that movie stole 2 hours of my life, but I did get a little nap in there, so it really only stole 1.

And one that made me depressed....because I paid $7.75 to see it in a movie theater....when I should have waited for one of my moronic friends to buy it so I can borrow it....DAREDEVIL!!!!

I see someone already mentioned Kids...one depressing and somewhat difficult film to watch.

Ponette. Seeing a little 4-year old girl dealing with her mother's death is very difficult to watch, especially during her crying scenes.
