digital effects in current films

has anyone noticed whether action sequences in today's movies appear fuzzy on screen? older movies shot on film never seem to bother me, but new movies, possibly with digital effects added, seem to compress images when there's lots of action and the movie looks blurry or fuzzy.....I don't think it's these old peepers..

The rappin'-'roo in Kangaroo Jack looked pretty crisp to me. Although I heard that they actually trained a real kangaroo to rap, so maybe it's not a good example.

It might be due to an inaccuracy in composting the CGI elements with matching film grain. Look at the little goober in Lost In Space, he definitely needed a grain pass.
