pitof and vidocq?
i was just over at AICN and saw that this is the director for the new catwoman movie starring ashley judd. previously he's been a special effects "genius" but in the story, AICN mentioned a movie pitoff did called vidocq. said it was a visual stunner. since i dont have a region-free dvd player i was curious to hear if anyone else has seen it and what were your thoughts....

Vidocq is actually quite sloppy in parts but I let it slide b/c the director was clearly trying very hard to make a very visually unique movie. And he succeded. Quite frankly I think the Anarchist (the villain) of the movie is one of the coolest looking villains I have ever seen filmed. I know there are a lot of people that don't care for this movie but I say poo on them. Even if you don't like it no one can deny it's visually stunning, & I think the story is actually an excellent horror/mystery with a pretty cool twist at the end.

well, i didnt like 'the cell' BUT found it visually stunning (except for the damien hearst-like imagery). mostly i hated the acting and the gore but that's not to say i cant handle gorey movies, this one just seemed intentionally over-the-top IMO. if you check out my dvd collection thru dvdaf. you'll see i'm pretty versatile in my tastes. i also share my collection with my boyfriend who absolutely loves horror movies and bizarre films!
i think i'll prob. check this one out. thanks
