Similarities Between The Ring & Feardotcom?
I just watched Feardotcom hoping it might be good or better then what the critics said but overall they were right. I did like some of the imagery and the look of the movie but the story was weak.
It sounds or seems similar to the Ring...what made the Ring so much better? I've been getting into the japanese genre and LOVE Audition, Freeze Me, Evil Dead Trap and know the Ring was based on a Japanese movie.....
Anyway, just wanted some thoughts on it before it comes out on dvd...Thanks!

(Explaining for the umpteenth time)
"Since "Ring", the original Japanese novel had done so well (Three films, comics, etc), it stood to reason that Hollywood was going to adapt it. Sure enough, Dreamworks announced they'd be adapting it, based on the movie's international success.
So in steps nonentity William Malone, one of Warner Bros. remake-this-horror-flick-quick directors. Completely rips off "Ring" before the American version comes out. But he has it as a WEBSITE! YEAH! ORIGINAL BABY!"
