how crowded is it at ttt??
the reason im asking is because the guy there said that it shouldnt be any problem going tomorrow because they have a show on the hour every hour. but another thread said that it made 26 mil on day 1! so is it crowded or not to get in (i plan on going to a show at 6 or 7.

The 10:45 showing I went to last night was sold out, though there were at least 10-15 empty seats down front.

I went to a 10:55pm showing last night and that was sold out but I got into a 11:15pm showing that they created at the last minute to satisfy demand.

The 4:10 showing I went to yesterday was sold out. There were maybe a couple of empty seats.

Obviousily, the place to see "Two Towers" in D.C. is the Uptown Theatre, according to the Wednesday edition of the Post the 6 and 10 o'clock shows were sold out. Both the main floor and balcony seat 840 people total.

Hmmmm
The Coronet in San FRancisco seats 1200. Midnight show sold out. 11 AM show sold out, 3 PM show might have had seats, but 7PM and 10:50 PM shows were sold out. The other theaters in the city seat only half the Coronet's size because they are multipleses.

We went to the Edwards/Regal 8:15 PM showing on the Giant Screen at Ontario Mills mall, and it was sold out. We got into the theater and there were 50-100 people looking for seats. We finally found 3, though we needed 4 (the last guy hadn't shown up yet, and in our minds he was sol.) At the last minute they made everyone slide over to fill empty seats, and one opened up for our late-comer. Then they decided to check every single ticket in the theater, and drove out probably 10 'hoppers.' The movie finally started at about 8:55, and after 20 minutes of commercials (hated) and trailers (loved) the movie started at 9:15, a whopping hour late. Sheesh.

Sold out for midnight show (4 screens) and for the 10:15pm showing the following night. As for the other times, I don't know, I only went to see it twice in one day. :D

(only 3 shows a day at the uptown) and it is the place to see it. It was badass! |
In Bloomington, Indiana: I just went to a 2:00 showing today and it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. It was sold out Wednesday and Thursday (I think), but there were quite a few seats left today.

I went to the 11 am show here in Arlington and there was about 30 people there. It's a large theatre too. I was pleased.

went to see the 10:15 last night but it was sold at 9 when we went to go get tickets. so we went to the 11 instead.
wanted to get their early to get good seats (i do NOT sit in the front of theaters)...got in line around 10 or so...only about 4 people in front. well it ended up when we got to go in at like 10:40 once the people who were all waiting in line sat, there were plenty of good seats left. meaning we could have gotten there at 10:40 instead of an hour before, and still found good seats! doh! it ended up about 90-95% full for mine. |
I went to a 4:00 on Friday and there were about 100 people there in a 400 seat thetaer.
|
went last night at the 5 show and it was pretty crowded INSIDE THE THEATER, there was no crowd to get in at all. the only thing that got annoying is that there was a black couple laughing at everything that little cgi character that followed frodo and sam the entire time of the movie.
|
I went to a theater that had it showing on 6 screens, they were all sold out up until 3am.
|
It was so crowded at my theater that they decided to double book and you had to sit on your companions lap. Good thing I decided to go with my wife and not my friend "Big Jake."
|
Wow, my theater was packed with people waiting an hour in advance for sunday night shows...and they had it on 4 screens.
|
Even if a movie is sold out, there are always some empty seats due to fire codes. theaters are supposed to (according to the fire codes) keep 10 % of the seats open.
I saw the Midnight (first) showing, which was packed and also the 7 p.m. showing later on Wednesday, which appeared to be sold out as well. |
