MovieCash from the 4DVD Set
Just wanted to start a thread about the MovieCash ticket that came in the 4 DVD set (and probably the 5DVD set) to see if anyone had any problems having them be accepted or not.
I've never used one before, so I'm hoping it works out. I'm only out $9.00 if not - but still, I'm hoping it's accepted with no problems.
I'm thinking they'd be good Xmas gifts if they work just like cash would.

It says on the back of the ticket which chains will accept it. I'm hoping I will use mine tonight. I hate to be "the guy who bitches at the clerk" but if they DON'T take it I'll be mighty irked, when the Movie Cash web site says all theaters have to honor it and can't use their "no passes" b.s. on it.

No problem at my local AMC even though it doesn't specify it on the MovieCash paper (although it does say that they accept it on the MovieCash website).

No problems buying a ticket in advance for the Tuesday midnight showing. These things are basically cash to the theaters and they treat them as such.

I bought my ticket on Tuesday afternoon for the Thursday 11 PM show with no problems using my moviecash. This was at an United Artist theater.
When Rockport was giving out free movie cash for MIB II for tryin' on their shoes, I used that movie cash with no problem at Sony/Loews theaters as well.
Like a previous poster said, the theaters treat this like cash and get reimbursed by the studio for it.

If you still have your movie cash coupon, take a look at it. It's essentially a check made out to the redeeming theatre for the amount to be filled in by the box office.
It wouldn't be too hard to fake copies of it.
Not that I would do that............
The theatre took it with no problems, and the movie would have still been worth it at full price. Apart from my friend getting sick and throwing up after eating a hot dog (I told him meat products at a theatre was a bad idea), it was a great show.

I just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow (New Years Eve) is the last day to use your movie cash voucher for your free ticket. I used mine today at an AMC theater and they took it with no problems what so ever. BTW, it was an awesome movie, but I thought I was about to bust my bladder waiting for it to end.

just used mine sunday. a funny thing. The movies charged movie cash 7.75 but by buddy who paid with greenbacks paid 7.50 guess they added a surcharge on top! Wonder if anyone else saw this practice as well.

A friend at a movie theatre said that the theatre always charges MovieCash the full ticket price, even if the MC ticket is used at a matinee or twilight discount show.
So the theatre would probably *prefer* all patrons use moviecash.

I still have mine. Oh well, unless a theater lets it go by I guess it will just collect dust. Maybe I can horde it for 10 years and then sell it on ebay for "ONE MILLION DOLLARS"
