Best Fight Sequence

Of these few top action/martial art movies, which one would you consider has the best action sequence?

Personally I pick Jackie Chan's Drunken Master II. How about you?

I realize that the list is quite short and very incomplete especially there are so many good action movies out there. I guess I should've probably retricted the focus to be more on the martial art/kung fu part.

Anyway, you can always post your favorite and vote for "Other". :)

Moving to Movie Talk..

But I would pick "They Live"

While this is a short and incomplete list, I would definitely say Fist of Legend is my pick from your choices... The whole movie is just great, IMO.

CoolIce 12-17-02 03:24 PM

From that list, fist of legends
However, there are wasy tomany movies with better fight sequence than movies you listed.

Top Secret!

Right now Equilibrium is on top of my list. See it now before it goes away. I've heard the DVD isn't coming out until May of next year.

Ummm, Fight Club? :p

I'll actually second Equilibrium. There are a couple fight sequences in the movie ... but one in particular is very good/impressive. While most critics panned this movie I enjoyed it. Yes ... Matrix wannabe ... no, not as good as Matrix. I saw this movie 2 weeks ago ... only 4 of us total in the large theater.

If a thread needs to be moved, can people just report it without posting about it? The thread eventually gets moved to the right forum, but you have all these "OMG WRONG FORUM" posts still in it.

Moving to Movie Talk.

When I see that, I figure it's just a cheesy way to boost your post count. Kind of like this!

To make this not total cheese, of those, I'll probably be the only one to pick Crouching Tiger--there was a couple of fight sequences (Zhang Ziyi against the bandit guy, and against Michelle Yeoh) I really enjoyed.

Actually, in general I really like every fight scene I've ever seen Michelle Yeoh in.

equilibrium rocked! i havent seen some of the others so i cant compare (kiss of the dragon sucked IMO).

however, another one that i really loved and was unexpected in terms of great fight sequence was 'the transporter' bus scene.

Rammsteinfan 12-17-02 11:18 PM

Another for Equilibirum... especially that last one. Gun-Kata rules all! The DVD better have lots of BTS footage of the action sequences and a commentary, etc...

Shonn 12-18-02 01:17 AM

The only one I haven't seen is Fist of Legend, so based on the others I picked Legend of Drunken Master. The fight scenes are great and hillarious.

NitroJMS 12-18-02 03:08 AM

Equilibrium :johnwoo:

Kromax 12-18-02 05:38 AM

It has to be the one from THEY LIVE.

bhk 12-18-02 11:24 AM

I'm going to vote for the rooftop fight scene in Who Am I?

ctyankee 12-18-02 05:43 PM

I haven't seen Equilibrium.

I still like the fight scenes in Hard Times (Charles Bronson).

The Antipodean 12-18-02 05:48 PM

This thread seems to assume no fight scenes have been made in non-Hong Kong movies made in the last 70 years or so...

tacomantt 12-18-02 05:57 PM

Jackie Chan's end fight seen in "Who am I?". Best there is.

mrhan 12-18-02 07:15 PM

How can people think that the Matrix has better fight scenes than Fist of Legend? I think Ping did a much better job of choreography on FoL than the Matrix.

Norm de Plume 12-18-02 07:42 PM

The finale of D.M. II is simply incredible. Ken Lo (Chan's bodyguard offscreen) should be a star.

Although his films are not as well choreographed as some of the more modern ones, Bruce Lee is untouchable with regard to fighting skill. In Return of the Dragon, he performs what may be the most astonishing martial arts move ever filmed: While fighting Bob Wall, he delivers a uni-footed double-kick (one to the ankle, one to the head) in the matter of a split second. No camera trickery, just unbelievable speed, flexibility, and power.

Samuel 12-18-02 07:49 PM

Rocky IV, when Rocky fights Ivan Drago and G.I. Jane, the fight between Viggo Mortensen and Demi Moore's charachters.

Tyler_Durden 12-19-02 06:50 AM

Yeah, where's They Live? I think they're still fighting in some L.A. alleyway.

elias 12-19-02 07:50 AM

Jackie Chan's fight scene at the end of Young Master is THE best one on one fight sequence put on film. PERIOD.

Get this movie NOW!!!
