Maid in Manhattan

Just saw this with my gf. They had special screenings in a bunch of NYC theaters today. Pretty good. Nice date movie to take a girl to. The sound cut out for like 5 minutes in the middle and they gave everyone free movie after the movie ended.

I saw this at one of the sneaks last week in D.C. It was the usual J-Lo fodder with the only bright spot being Ralph Fiennes.

This is a Chick flick not my cup of tea

Ps..I've seen an read enough about J LO this past year to last me a lifetime

I predict this move will "tank" just like her marrriages

tell me about it! her P.R. has not only brought her name out in massive force this year but so much so that i no longer give a d*mn about her. i'm sick and tired of seeing her face! will no longer support anything she does. (not that i ever really did...talentless hack)

She showed so much promise with Out of Sight. Shame she chose the Diva route as opposed to being a serious actress.

Well said! This movie looks like a made for TV/cable movie. :yack: I've heard about her(and Ben AfflecK) far too often on shows like "Extra!" "Access Hollywood" etc.. I wonder how long before the general public gets sick and tried of hearing about her every move every day. I know I have. I wish she would go back to more serious movie role .Also Jennifer Lopez get rid of that stupid nickmame you gave yourself "J-LO" . Why it looks like "JELLO" in shorthand! she showed us great potential in "Selena" and "Out of Sight".

Hmmm J-Ho? yea I'll pass.

cooper2000 12-08-02 03:22 PM

If a movie can look worse than her other flick, Wedding Planner, I think this one has done it.
I hate when Hollywood makes movies like this.
Blahhh.

Date movies are ok. You've got mail, or Fools rush in....but ugh I can't stand J-Ho

matome 12-08-02 07:25 PM

I usually try not to let my hatred of a celebrity get in the way of seeing movies, but nowadays if J-Ho is in a movie, it will be skipped. Yep, I miss the good old days of Out of Sight.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Agree 100% She definitely needs a new (film) agent. And Ralph WHAT were you thinking!??

I cannot believe Ralph Fiennes would act in this doo doo. What's next......a romantic comedy starring Daniel Day Lewis and Tara Reid?

I loathe the phrase "date movie". These movies are nothing more than cookie-cutter Hollywood corporate product. No originality at all.

 TFF!!

Yeah, makes you wonder what other odd pairing we will see down the road. I loved your example! And yes, the term "date movie" is used more than a "popcorn movie". Do you leave your brain at the door for those too!? I don't know why, but Sandra Bullock immediately comes to mind when I think of either.

Hi Daytripper

How about Cate Blanchett and Freddy Prinze, Jr.? starring in the "date movie" of the year? :) Poor Cate would be acting by herself.

Stop!! I'm pissing myself over here. Should Cate ever be reduced to this, she should just slit her wrists. Because it is OVER! And by the way, anyone who acts with FPJ is acting alone ;)
