It says it's Region 1, though, so it should be a US release.

also check over at Amazon.ca, sometimes the UK releases get Canadian releases, close to the UK street date.

It's back on IFC in December.

***It airs on December 13, 26 & 30.***

I don't know exact times.

Check the channel's website but I believe it runs 3 times or something.

The movie played on IFC earlier but I missed it so I have no opinion.

Got this today from IFC concerning "Ripley's Game":

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. This film will air on 12/13 at 10PM, 4AM, 12/26 9PM, 1:15AM, 12/30 6AM, 3:45AM Eastern Time.

Again, thanks for your interest in IFC.

Geofferson 11-25-03 04:06 PM

I've been wondering about this film as well. Glad to see IFC will be airing it.

REMINDER: Ripley's Game on IFC tonight (12/13) 10e/9c

Ripley's Game will air tonight, Saturday (Dec. 13) at 10 p.m. eastern time/9 p.m. central.

and then again early Sunday morning at 4 a.m. eastern/3 central.

I'd verify those with the IFCtv website cause they could be an hour off.

I've been waiting a couple of years to see this and I havent' heard a dvd release date in sight.

It also airs twice more in December.

For those who don't know, this another in the series of Tom Ripley books put on the screen. Patricia Highsmith is the author.

It's basically a sequel to "The Talented Mr. Ripley" with Malkovich taking over the title character that Matt Damon played.

This never got a distributor and was never released in theatres.

Groucho 12-11-03 06:54 AM

Thanks for the heads up! I missed this last time they showed it.

IFC has seriously got to stop showing The Terminator and The Conversation back to back to back to back all the time.

marty888 12-11-03 11:46 PM

I woulda missed it again - THANKS!

Frank TJ Mackey 12-13-03 06:02 PM

the movie is on tonight (12/13) at 10 eastern and then at 4 a.m. eastern.

Autotelik 12-13-03 08:56 PM

thanks for the reminder, i almost forgot again. going to call my sister to record it for me since i don't have IFC.

Shilex 12-13-03 09:28 PM

I was wondering what happened to this movie. I saw a trailer for it like a year ago and then nothing else. Too bad I don't get the IFC. Anyone know if they will release this to DVD anytime in the future?

Groucho 12-13-03 10:51 PM

I believe the DVD is slated for February. That's the last I heard, anyway.

I was surprised that IFC showed this fullframe, since the film was originally intended to have a theatrical release.

movielib 12-13-03 11:53 PM

So did anybody see it? Is it any good? I taped it but I don't expect to have time to watch it for awhile.

It's shot beautifully and Malkovich is good and of course very subtle.

It was thoroughly entertaining until the last 10 minutes. The ending seemed slightly "overdone" I guess I'll say.

It wasn't a bad ending just seemed not likely.

I liked the film as a whole quite a bit.

javanut 02-13-04 12:05 PM

There's a good review in the current New Yorker.

bothanspy 02-14-04 03:49 PM

Its airing again in the next 2 weeks. I remember queueing it up in the Tivo for sometime in the future.

I just saw this on Amazon.

DVD release scheduled for March 30, 2004.

I don't know about the details though. I'm just thrilled to be able to see this finally. :)

Geofferson 05-02-04 01:01 AM

I finally saw this film today - it was pretty good. Malkovich did a great job as Ripley.

marty888 05-02-04 07:49 AM

Good movie, and nice to see that it's finally out there and available.
