selina "welcome to the jungle" gun and roses (the part where the boyfriend distroys the hotel) it just seemed very out of place.

Welcome To The Jungle, is a great soundtrack song but can only be used in certain movies and specific occasions. Selena wasn't one of them.

How about all those tired rock songs heard everywhere else that were played in Shrek? I think All Star has been in pretty much every movie produced in the last three years.

I used to like All Star, a lot, for SOME reason.

I think it fits in Mystery Men just fine though.

I shall also nominate "All-Star" since it was in like every single movie made since it came out.

I know there is another song that got put into 57,000 movies within the past few years...i just can't remember it.

Rufus Wainwright's version of "Hallelujah" wasn't bad and wasn't out of place.

Even though I LOVE the song and it was kind of "appropriate," I thought that "How to Disappear Completely" by Radiohead was kind of awkward in Life As a House. It just seemed forced.

I thought "Hallelujah" seemed really out of place in Shrek. Plus, it made me think it was the John Cale version of the song, Wainwright's version is a note for note remake, even with his voice. For quite a while I thought they must have just put Cale's version on with a pen name.

But as much as I love the song, my girlfriend and I's first comment when leaving the theater was "Why did they put a John Cale song in the movie?"

When I read the thread title, I immediately thought of "Hallelujah" in Shrek. The Jeff Buckley version will always be my favorite, and the fact that they remade it again pissed me off.

Scarborough Fair in The Graduate wasn't exactly bad IMO as much as it was overkilled to the point of being annoying.

Same for Everybody's Talkin at Me in Midnight Cowboy.

All the rap music that was loudly mixed onto the US version of BLACK MASK. Didn't fit at all, and was WAY too loud over the action. It drove me crazy....

The song used to be ok (now its just played out), I do like the movie. It just seemed to be used randomly in the movie. Like in that cheerleader sequance. It just wasn't necesarry there. I think it was used well in the college party scene and it wasn't a big deal when the guys girlfriend was in the car.
