Question about Halloween...

O.K. now that it's pretty much all said and done, do we know if Michael Myers is human, or some kind of alien, or what? I mean, at the start of the original, he is seen as a little boy seemingly to have been raised by regular parents. But when I saw the ending for the first time, when he was shot several times, fell over the balcony and then dissapeared, I went "WTF?" So basically how is he able to survive all the hacks and injuires by Laura if he's a regular human?

Also, I heard a rumor that the mask worn by him was originally worn by some creatures in Star Trek and that's originally where they got the idea for what kind of mask he should wear. Is there any truth to this?

As far as your questions go...It's best to try not imposing any sort of logic when it comes to slasher films...;)

I'd be more confused at how he survived the end of II.

And the mask was based on William Shatner. IIRC it was a last minute thing.

He's a successful franchise character, much like Jason or Freddie.

You just can't kill those guys like you can the less successful ones like Dr. Giggles.

Of course the Dr. survived the end of II, as well...

They went to a store to get several of the cheapest masks they could, which happened to be Captain Kirk/William Shatner. They widened the eyeholes, messed with the hair, and gave the whole face the pale white look.
