Your favorite scene in Fellowship Of The Ring?
I did a search, and i couldn't find this specific thread, I have a fear it's out there some where though(shudders)
Just wanted to know everyone's favorite scene. Mine is when Gandalf fought that Belrog, and the whole chase scene on the stairways leading up to it, as orcs shooting arrows in the mine. I was just blown away, and thought it was breathtaking. Somehow I don't think Belrogs would make good pets. Damn that's a mean whip he dices.
What's yours?

I have to choose just one? Damn. Well, my favorite scene now from watching the EE is Boromir's deathbed scene with Aragon. All the little additions to the two characters and their relationship in the EE made Boromir's death that more moving.
Interesting note about the stairway chase: The final script only says, "The Fellowship flee down a stairway." The entire sequence was inspired by Alan Lee's concept drawing of the stairway.

Can't decide between either:
1. Aragorn going up against that gang of Uruk Hai (after he tells Frodo to run)
2. Legolas shooting down 5 or 6 orcs all in succession towards the end.

Something from either the first 90 minutes or last half hour. That section of around an hour roughly in the middle is pretty weak (from when they enter the mines to when they leave the Elves). My very favorite...hmm...tough to say, but any of the scenes that aren't in the boring section would be a good choice, most likely not one of the action sequences.

when i saw it in the theaters, i thought that some parts were a little slow, but maybe by splitting the discs into two, the movie runs alot smoother and at a faster pace.
my favorite scene was when those big cgi monsters with sticks attack all (i have not read the book so thats why i have no idea what the hell im talking about)

I like the opening battle scene when the elves unleash their arrows on the orcs; arrows are flying past Elrond's head and he doesn't even flinch. Then the lead orcs crash into the line of orcs and the elves whip out their spears at the same time. Tres cool.

The little things are what make this movie truly special.
Ian McKellan is so expressive as Gandalf. The way his face falls as Frodo tells him there are markings on the ring is moving, and at the Council of Elrond, when Frodo says he will take the ring to Mordor, the expression of hope on Gandalf's face is just wonderful.
The shots of the Wraiths entering the Prancing Pony and Butterbur hiding are truly terrifying.
I love the passage through the Argonath too. Doesn't really add anything to the story, but is just incredibly cool.
The best new scenes in the EE are the extended scenes at Lothlorien. The little additions to a lot of the scenes make the whole movie a lot more Tolkien-like.
Overall, though, I think I like the original cut of Gandalf's arrival at the Shire better. The new version would be better for a LOTR newbie, so I'm surprised it wasn't maintained in the theatrical cut.

My favorite scene had to be Legolas shooting the orc at the bridge of kazadum?. The camera following the arrow as it's spinning. My favorite sequence is the battle at the end. Especially when Strider slit that Uruk Hai's throat and Boromir doing whatever it took to protect the halflings. It would've been fine if Merry and Pippin were throwing those rocks but not knocking down every Uruk Hai they hit with it.

Anyway, my favourite scenes include:
Legolas kicking much ass at Amon Hen.
Boromir's death scene (however, the goof with the arm resting on Aragorn's shoulder and then not is a bit distracting).
Gandalf falling into the pit with the Balrog. Howard Shore's sweeping score is majestic and moving as they escape the mines of Moria.
The first encounter with Galadriel and Celeborn in Lothlorien.
Elrond telling Isildur to cast the ring into the fire - Isildur returning the request with a smirking, simple, "no". Awesome!
Arwen casting the spell on the river to sweep the nazgul away always manages to send a chill up my spine.
Oh hell, the entire movie is my favourite "scene"...

(but i hated the new scene when they enter lothlorien... day, night, day... goofy elves talking)

I think my favorite scene was when the car was driving by and Cartman was like: "I shall protect us from the dragon!" and does his little twitching mumble type thing.
Ohh wait..wrong FOTR scene.
Honestly though, I think my favorite scene was the whole underground orc scene in the mines with the Balrog and such.

My favorite scene would probably be the first meeting of Gandalf and Bilbo at Bag-End. I just love that scene because there is so much being said about the extremely deep relation between these two character without boring you through long exposition speeches. Greatly written scene.
And like many here, I also love the gift giving scene in the extended cut. It brings out the deepness that some characters were missing in the theatrical cut. (Gimli and Galadriel are so much more interresting and multi-dimentionnal now.)
