James Bond bosses are so pleased with Halle Berry's character Jinx in new Bond film Die Another Day, they're planning to give the slick crime-fighter her own spin-off movie series. The character, who serves as an onscreen equal to Pierce Brosnan's 007 has greatly impressed bosses, and they're now scurrying to give Jinx the first sanctioned spin-off in Bond's 40-year history. Oscar winner Halle says, "Right away, when I first read the script, I started to gather that she was his equal. In the first scene where she beds Bond and when he wakes up she's gone because she's busy doing other business, I was like, 'Yeah!'" And Halle says that she'd happily play Jinx over and over again - provided certain conditions were met. She explains, "If Jinx could stay just as she is and evolve even further, and if they would put the love and care that they put into James Bond, I'd absolutely do it in a heartbeat."
wtf are they thinking.

But hey, she won an oscar, she must be a box office draw.
Not to sound crude or anything, but unless she takes off her top, I'm not sold.

grr... bond's women are not equals. Man that makes me mad, the totally mess up Bond's MO. He is so charming that the women always want him, he leaves first not them. And they don't get there own movies. Grr... Bond is dying a slow death.

Where have you've been for a while falcon? we live in a PC world, Bond's women need to be the working type, No need for men and so forth.. besides, bond died after the whole cold war ended.

I guess MGM needs to do something else to bring some $$ in, god knows "Rollerball" couldnt...or alot of thier remakes.
I was going to say i was happy that MGM decided to do something else besides Bond...then i realized that its just Bond, only female and American.
I'm starting to get the feeling that MGM can only do Bond and Bond type stuff.

Don't know why everyone thinks this is a bad idea. Bond movies have been turgid bores since 1970 or so, Berry looks to the first sign of life the series has had in eons.

I don't really think Berry doing a spin off is a terrible idea...
as long as it doesnt lead to 50,000 other spin off ideas.
I do think its terrible that MGM has to pretty much rely on Bond to save thier asses.
Maybe giving Hallie Berry perhaps another starring role in another type of movie instead of giving her a very Bond like role in a Bond like movie. I know they do Bond best but there is life beyond Bond.
But i will have to make my judgement on her character when i actually see the movie. If i find her character likeable then i will look forward to a movie starring Jinx.

I think Halle Berry looks horrible in the Bond trailers, imo, Denise Richards is more a Bond girl than Halle Berry.

mgm said that they would give the love of my life, michelle yeoh, a spin off franchise from her character in tomorrow never dies. that didn't happen, so take it for what it is worth. i'd rather watch her kick some ass than watch halle berry's stupid ass on the screen.

I would rather see this over Hallie Berry too.
Sadly, Michelle Yeoh doesnt sell as well as Hallie Berry
And i know Michelle could kick Hallie's butt in a fight.

what an idiotic statement
and as for a spin-off, bad idea. "let's create an even more marginalized franchise to accompany the withered, half-dead corpse of the one kept on life support."
