Anyone else seen the Grey Zone?
Has anyone here seen the Grey Zone? I dont know anyone else whos seen it. If you havent seen it I really think you should. Its a very good movie, but very disturbing. A lot of reviewers are comparing it to Schindlers List. Its actually quite diffrent from Schindlers List. Its a more up close view of the Holocaust. Please go see this movie if you get a chance.

Just saw the DVD a few nights ago. It is definately worth a rental, though I just didn't think that it was on par with Schindler's List or other WWII movies.
One thing was that Steve Buschemi was in it, while he is a great actor, he just seemed out of place in this movie (or maybe it was that he reminded me that it was a movie because I can easily picture him in his other roles).
And yes, this is a very "up close and personal" view of the inner workings of a concentration camp. Very depressing, obviously. It follows a group of Jewish prisoners who work in the camp leading people to the gas chambers ("Remember the number of your hook where you put your clothes, you will be coming back here after your shower and you must remember the number on your hook"), taking the bodies out of the chamber, burning them, getting rid of the ashes, scrubbing the chamber, etc. In exchange, the prisoners get a lot of privelidges such as decent food, beds, etc. However, these groups are occasionally (every three or four months) rounded up and killed, then a new group is brought on.
Very depressing.
