Attn HK movie fans: Zhang Yimou's "Hero" Trailer online
|
Looks surprisingly boring and unimaginative. It's hard to believe that Zhang Yimou would be involved in a film that's an obvious clone of Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger. The same person that crafted such works of art as Red Sorghum, Raise the Red Lantern and JuDou? I could be wrong but I smell a sellout.

These type of films have been around a lot longer than CTHD, which btw bombed in China/HK. |
i'm excited :)

These type of films have been around a lot longer than CTHD, which btw bombed in China/HK. Zhang Yimou will probably get a Hollywood film deal after this and sign on to direct Rush Hour 3. Are you ready for: Jackie Chan and Zhang Yimou working together! |
Originally posted by thunnus My point exactly. Why bother exploring this overdone genre, especially from the "acclaimed dramatic filmmaker tries his hand at a wire-fu epic using Zhang Ziyi and top HK star" angle, when it has been done before? I think a lot of genres are 'overdone' but not this one, at least from a western perspective. I'm interested to see where Zhang Yimou goes from here... |
Like those damn historical epics in Hollywood, so overdone. Seriously, who wants to see another one, right? It has to suck!
