Looks surprisingly boring and unimaginative. It's hard to believe that Zhang Yimou would be involved in a film that's an obvious clone of Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger. The same person that crafted such works of art as Red Sorghum, Raise the Red Lantern and JuDou? I could be wrong but I smell a sellout.

These type of films have been around a lot longer than CTHD, which btw bombed in China/HK.

My point exactly. Why bother exploring this overdone genre, especially from the "acclaimed dramatic filmmaker tries his hand at a wire-fu epic using Zhang Ziyi and top HK star" angle, when it has been done before?

Zhang Yimou will probably get a Hollywood film deal after this and sign on to direct Rush Hour 3. Are you ready for: Jackie Chan and Zhang Yimou working together!

I think a lot of genres are 'overdone' but not this one, at least from a western perspective.

I'm interested to see where Zhang Yimou goes from here...

Like those damn historical epics in Hollywood, so overdone. Seriously, who wants to see another one, right? It has to suck!
