Anyone heard anything about Steven Seagal's new movie "Half Past Dead"?

Does anyone know anything about this new movie from Steven Seagal? I think it's rated PG-13. What's the buzz on this movie?Anyone here going to see it? What's the plot etc? It comes to movie theaters November 15th(The same day as Harry Potter 2).

Haven't we seen that before??

Called something like, "THE ROCK"!!!!!!
except tourists, now we got prisoners!!!

People, don't go to see this movie, DON'T GO.....
:D

I guess that since his last film with DMX made some money, Segal figures that the only way his movies will keep making money is to have a rapper as a co-star. In this case it is Ja Rule.

So this movie is basically "The Rock" for the PG-13 crowd?

I actually consider myself a Seagal "fan", but this looks pretty bad...

Under Siege in a Prison.

All I know is that it was written and directed by a complete wad.

But hey, the movie might be great? I have no idea, but I know that DMP is a dork. imho. :)

Geofferson 10-29-02 08:49 AM

This looks pretty bad. I liked Seagal early in his career, but everything since On Deadly Ground has been in the gutter.

Lastblade 10-29-02 08:51 AM

Steven Seagal is turning into a comedian because his movies are a joke and we all have fun laughing at them :)

djmont 10-29-02 08:52 AM

Saw the trailer on TV last night. Man, is Seagal looking BLOATED!

Dr. DVD 10-29-02 09:21 AM

This movie is nothing more than a pathetic attempt by the studio to try and catch some teens who think Harry Potter is for kids. In other words, it's a throw away that should have gone straight to video.

Iron Chef 10-29-02 09:32 AM

The picture on Steven Segal's website has an interesting date on it.

If he's such a super duper martial artist, why does he looking more and more like humpty dumpty? What happened to his Under Seige days? If you're gonna be an action star, for Pete sake, at least look like one! Or maybe he's going for the Hongkong Samo look? 8-D

Mourn 10-29-02 04:05 PM

I started laughing un-controlably when i heard the name in the commercial.

As far as the movie itself, i know nothing. But what the hell were they thinking naming it that??!?

Question- I had an argument at work over this. How tall is Steven Seagal?

JimRochester 11-13-02 07:39 AM

He is a tall guy. 6'4" or 5". But he needs to drop a couple hundred pounds if he wants to be an action star. The only review I read trashes him for all the closeups to hide the gut and lack of athleticism in the fights. Glimmer Man would have been so much better had he not spent all his time with big loose shirts and his arms crossed to cover his ever expanding gut.

Lastblade 11-13-02 07:50 AM

"Half Past Dead"... an appropriate title to Steven Seagal's career

Caoimhin 11-13-02 07:52 AM

You know, every time I remember that Ja Rule now gets to be in movies, a little piece of my soul dies.

You apparently don't need to be in top physical shape to be an Aikido stylist, possibly since you're supposed to be using the opponent's own force against himself. I was watching a programme on diff martial arts and the Aikido master they brought in looked like Cartman from South Park.

However, since they're trying to make Seagal do HK-style acrobatic stuff now, he looks horrible doing it.

I was at the advance screening of this one tonight. Stay away. It's terrible. I'd say more but well I've already wasted enough time on this film
