Movies you thought would suck...and did!!!!

Majestic-thought it would stink from the reviews and previews. Rented it with an open mind, found out I was correct!

Battlefield:Earth- used a free pass to get into this one. Looked dumb, it was dumb.

Valentine-only went because friends wanted to see it. DUMB!!!

Barry Lyndon- Saw bits of it on TV, looked dull. Tried watching it, fell asleep. BORING!!!

Amadeus- Good music, but I knew from what I had seen on TV I should have stayed away. BORING!!!

Astronaut's Wife- A friend let me borrow it, so no money lost. But still D-U-M-B!

Cutthroat Island-Any film where the director's wife is the main star signals you should run for the hills. You would think with $92 million invested they could have done a decent job.

The Postman- I only saw a little bit of it on TV, and it was so cringe inducing I wanted to throw up.

"Attack Of The Clones" . . . like a 2 1/2 hour screensaver. Hey, George, spend less time storyboarding and more time directing next time, okay?

You just lost all credibility with me. Perhaps if Mozart and Antonio Salieri had engaged in some wicked kung-fu you would have liked it more?

I have to agree with Behind Enemy Lines.

I second Rollerball. That was the worst piece of dung I've seen in years.

I think some of the hurt from this film can be lessened by imagining instead of the social commentary of the originals, it's now a boffo action movie with monkeys

"I can't wait to eat that monkey."

Most recently: Battlefield Earth (2000). Most movies fail to live up to the negative word of mouth. This one surpassed it.

I allowed myself to be swayed by popular opinion and went to see Titanic.

That was the final break in my happy-populist moviegoing habits.

I think some movies need only be judged for what they are. Using that logic (and your list) those movies I left in your qoute are fine... for what they are, good even. In a desert island scenario I wouldn't take a one of them but I'm not sorry I saw them... and that's all they we're ever meant to be/do.

All of the Star Wars films.

I can say that in this thread....so don't try to scare me!

I just don't believe the hype.

When I saw those "movie goers" who line up weeks, even months before the release dates of AOTC and PM...

I just laugh out loud...and throw them lotion.!!!

Another for the Star Wars films. Didn't see 'em until I was 17 because they looked dumb. Finally saw them during the reissue and they were worse than I had ever imagined.

Ok, if James Bond movies have kept sucking that bad for the last ten years, why did you keep seeing them?
