I loved the first one. Tom Arnold was the best part of the flick.

And I always hear that James Cameron goes to the Titanic ever so often. Reasons. I have no idea.

Man, I'm sick of this 'We can't offend the Arabs/Muslims/Etc' attitude. Back in 1994, when 'True Lies' came out the Arab Rights people were screaming for blood. We're not like that, they said, we're not terrorists. Just one year prior, the 1993 WTC bombing occured. Who's responsible? For those who argue it's unfair to media-portray an ethnic group together, perhaps they'd best stop watching media? EVERYTHING on TV is in a way representative of a certain stereotyping, good or bad. There are mostly white people on TV and in films because the caucasian population has the most power. Anyone see 'Training Day'? Was that a "BIASED" view of the barrios, of L.A. street life? I've been there. Stuck there at night. You're not watching over your shoulder for white people there. You're looking out for the Latino eses and the punks and gangbangers, who, yes, happen to be black. It's REALITY.
Anyway, I do agree that True Lies 2 should be made, and while I thought the Chinese were going to be the bad guys, the latest James Bond flick features Asian baddies. So I think True Lies 2 will have Iraqi-Arabic bad guys, a true representation of the current world state.
Nazis.
Russians.
Arabs.
SOMEONE else WILL be next. Life moves on.

1) If the Arabs are pissed about being portrayed as terrorists, then stop supporting groups that condon terrorism. PLA anybody?? Us Aryan Nazis were portrayed negatively in The Sum Of All Fears, and you don't hear us complaining, do you???
2) Well, if we can't get True Lies 2, can we at least get a good DVD release of True Lies?

Sorry to resurrect the thread but didn't want to start a new one.
Anyways, at a book signing today for Tom Arnold's book, Tom was taking questions before the signing began. I just had to ask about True Lies 2. He said the script is ready, Arnold is ready, all the actors are ready. They are just waiting for Jim Cameron.
So next time one of you bumps into him, please gently remind him some of us are still waiting.

about. What book? I had no idea Tom could read let alone write. I loved "True Lies". I thought it was a great action flick. And Schwarzenegger, JLC and Cameron were definitely at the top top of their game in the film. But Tom Arnold?? I still can't believe people thought he was so great in the film. He was the same old Tom Arnold that he is (was) in everything else he's ever done. I'm sure he's dying for the sequel more than anyone else given the work he's been doing lately.

6 years later....
Tom Arnold Says Schwarzenegger Will Be Back For True Lies 2
According to an interview with Starpulse.com Tom Arnold exclaims:
I’d love to see this happen, but I really can’t see everyone teaming up together. There has been rumors swirling around something like this may happen, but I won’t believe it until I’m sitting in the theater.
Tom Arnold Says Schwarzenegger Will Be Back For True Lies 2
According to an interview with Starpulse.com Tom Arnold exclaims:
“If all goes as planned, the day Arnold leaves office, we will again team with Jim Cameron and do a comedy. Jim says it might not be called True Lies II, but it will be fun. True Lies was my first real movie experience, and we’ve all stayed close, which I’ve realised, 50 films later, is very unusual. I love those guys.”

Re: Maybe no TRUE LIES 2 afterall...
I would love to see this happen too, but I have a sneaking suspicion that someone was just trying to cheer Tom Arnold up at a party. That said, any re-teaming of Schwarzennegger and James Cameron gets me there on opening weekend.
On another note, I know they're real sticklers here about not starting new threads when there's another one on the same subject but really?? A 6 year old thread? I didn't know the site's even been around that long!

After reading that, I just had to check IMDB. Arnold has 80 credits since True Lies. Granted, there's some TV, and some of the movies are made for TV. I don't feel like counting them, but he might not be far off the mark with that 50 films claim.

Re: Maybe no TRUE LIES 2 afterall...
I don't care if it's True LIIes (<- that's the teaser poster right there) or not, I want a brand-new ass-kicking Arnold film asap once he's out of office. The man has been away from cinema for far too long. We need a real man back in action. Too bad he can't get in on Stallone's Expendables. Now that would kick major ass.
