Good TWEC (FYE, Coconuts, Strawberries, Wherehouse, etc.) Rebate Deals Part II
These rebates pertain to Trans World Entertainment Corporation Stores (FYE, Coconuts, Strawberries Wherehouse, etc.).
These rebates normally last for 2 weeks from the date of release(Some have run for only one week). These rebates normally take 6 - 8 weeks and they're good because you can send in the UPC Price Sticker instead of the actual UPC (full details on sending in the rebate on the bottom of this post). If you need to contact Parago for whatever reason, their phone # is 877-266-6483. Press #2 for non-Staples rebates. Then press "0" to get a CSR. NEWSFLASH: It looks like the days of $10 MIR are gone and the rebates will now be $5 or $7. However, you can still get the deals if your store advertises pre-orders (in some ways this can be better because you save a littlel bit on tax). They probably did this because more people sent in their rebates than they expected as a result of bargain hunters like us in this thread. Therefore, if your TWEC store advertises pre-orders, I'd highly suggest pre-ordering your title so that you can get that advertised price. It looks like FYE has separate rebate deals for pre-orders and non-pre-orders (e.g. for Kill Bill Vol. 2 there are separate $10 rebates for pre-orders and $5 rebates for non-pre-orders) NOTE: The prices are normally good for the first week (i.e. through the first Saturday). The second week the price may rise. The last 2 days of the rebate (Last Sunday and Monday, the price will almost always rise $2 or so....e.g. titles that are $19.99 will rise to $21.99). That said, the earlier you buy the item, the better. This Week's Rebate Deals (10/12/04 - 10/25/04) The Day After Tomorrow: $19.99 + tax - $7 MIR Breakin All the Rules: $19.99 + tax - $7 MIR Raising Helen: $19.99 + tax - $7 MIR Ren & Stimpy Seasons 1 & 2: $29.99 + tax - $7 MIR Last Week's Rebate Deals (10/5/04 - 10/18/04) Aladdin: $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR The Shawshank Redemption SE: $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR Fahrenheit 9/11: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR Lady Death: $7 MIR (I couldn't find this in the store) Future rebates are (Note: These prices are mostly reported by lumberjack and are only guaranteed for advertised pre-orders at your store which require a $5 deposit. TWEC has cut down on the amount of their rebates. These prices will most likely be significantly higher during release week (e.g. Hellboy had a pre-order price of $9.99 after MIR but during release week it was $16.99 after MIR; a difference of $7 + Tax) 10/19/04: Dawn of the Dead (2004): $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR 10/19/04: Garfield The Movie: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR (Free plush toy with pre-order) 10/19/04: Van Helsing: $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR 10/26/04: Mulan: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 10/26/04: White Chicks: $14.99 after MIR 11/2/04: Around the World in 80 Days (2004): $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR 11/5/04: Shrek 2: $14.99 after MIR (Free plush toy with pre-order...choice of Shrek, Donkey, or Puss N Boots) (Rebate changed from $7 to $5) 11/9/04: The Stepford Wives: $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR 11/16/04: The Chronicles of Riddick: $12.99 after MIR 11/16/04: Elf: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR (Free Yuletide Log DVD with pre-order) (Rebate changed from $7 to $5) 11/23/04: Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR ($14.99 after MIR) 11/23/04: Seinfeld Seasons 1 & 2: $29.99 after MIR (Free undetermined gift with pre-order) 11/23/04: Seinfeld Season 3: $29.99 after MIR (Free undetermined gift with pre-order) 11/23/04: The Terminal: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR (Rebate changed from $7 to $5) 11/30/04: Spider-Man 2: $14.99 after MIR (Free undetermined gift with pre-order) 12/7/04: The Bourne Supremacy: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 12/7/04: Catwoman: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR (Rebate changed from $7 to $5) 12/7/04: Dodgeball: $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR (Free Dodgeball with pre-order) 12/7/04: LOTR: The Return of the King (Extended Edition): $29.99 + Tax - $7 MIR 12/14/04: Collateral: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 12/14/04: I, Robot: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 12/21/04: King Arthur: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 12/21/04: The Manchurian Candidate (2004): $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 12/28/04: Anchorman: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 1/4/05: The Notebook: $19.99 + Tax - $5 MIR 1/4/05: Troy: $19.99 + Tax - $7 MIR Other rebate deals for August Kill Bill vol. 2: $22.99 + Tax - $7 MIR The Punisher: $21.99 + Tax - $7 MIR $7.99 with any purchase: Return of the Living Dead SE As reported by misterchimpy, Coconuts, Strawberries, etc. has a sales flyer (these deals are good through Wednesday, 10/13/04, although the Coconuts in Queens NY usually run their sales flyers through Saturday) 15% + Free Shipping at Coconuts.com see www.coconuts.com/15fsoct for details, enter promo code 15FSOCT at checkout. Fill out the rebate form and check off all products on the same receipt that are eligible for rebates. 2. Remove the UPC price stickers from the front of the DVD packaging and place them on a blank sheet of white paper and cut around the borders. 3. Fill out the envelope with a stamp. 4. Make 2 copies of the receipt (one to mail in, one for your records), a copy of the rebate form (both sides), a copy of the UPCs and a copy of the envelope 5. Get another sheet of blank white paper. Staple the left hand corner of the rebate form with your information facing up to the left hand corner of the sheet of paper. Cut out one copy of the receipt and tape that to the right hand side of the paper. Circle the prices of qualifying purchases and the date of the receipt. Tape the UPC Price Stickers to the bottom left hand of the white paper. 6. Make a copy of the white sheet of paper with all the rebate materials on it (write on it the day that you mail it out). Keep the copy for yourself 7. Place that original sheet (not the photocopy) in the stamped envelope and mail it out. 8. Parago, the rebate fulfillment company, will send you an e-mail once they receive your rebate submission which you can track at RebatesHQ.com. 9. Once you receive the rebates, make a copy of it/them and write on it/them the day that you received it and staple it to your copies for the rebate. In regards to if rebates are applicable at all stores, this is db27's, a manager of a FYE store, response. I would love to chime in! You spoke to Liam, who is ltrain here on the forums. This is the definitive answer, no questions or issues this is how it is. In transworld they have many store brands as you all know. Some of the stores run what are call FSI promotions (free-standing inserts) these generally apply to non-mall stores but some (few) are on the program as well. If you have a store near you that runs any type of flyer in the paper they are on the program. As an example Stevevt, our Coconuts is on the FSI program, while neither fye in the Burlington area is. Thus promotions vary from one to the other. Liam was correct to say that your fye reciept and the rebate form that you got from fye wouldn't work, because the store number on the fye reciept identifys us as a non-FSI store. By doing the exchange and getting the Coconuts reciept you seal the deal and your rebates will successfully be redeemed. Let me know if I can help out further. "5/25: LOTR: The Return of the King: $22.99 + Tax - $10 MIR (Also, if you preorder it, it comes with a free mini Aragorn figure)"
Wow! That's a good deal. Couple that with the hopefully $5 rebate for the EE in the TE version, it's a steal. Do you know when the preorder goes into effect? Great info. Bob |
man, missed out on that Master and Commander 2 disc MIR. when I went to the wherehouse they only had the 1 disc showing. lame. that star wars rebate sounds solid, but I will most likely wait till release week to see if anyone elses prices are lower. thanks!

aragorn figure
I can tell you that as of now preorders for LOTR ROTK will NOT include the figure of aragorn, we got an email that told us to cover up the signage that supported this giveaway and were told that they could cover the existing pre-orders only.

Perfect... just as Wherehouse starts to get in on the deals the last one near me closes shop. Perfect.

Scary Movie Deal
Also, if you buy the Scary Movie 1/2 pack (not sure on the price yet), you'll get an additional coupon for $5 off Scary Movie 3.

Will FYE have any deals or rebates on Underworld unrated extended cut on May 25?

I just got an email confirmation for The Cooler DVD Rebate, and it only said $8:
Rebate: $8.00 Rebate Check Promotion: Up to a $10.00 Mail-In Rebate on Select Movie Titles Submission Type: MAIL Date Received: 05-05-2004 Status: Processing Rebate Status Detail: Your rebate is valid and is in the final stages of processing. You should receive your rebate per the terms and conditions listed on the coupon. Whats up with that? Anyone else's say the same thing? |
Saw the same weirdness here. I sent in these rebates:
Kill Bill $10 Big Fish $7 WWE XX $8 The rebate for Kill Bill shows up as $10, but the rebates for Big Fish and WWE XX are only showing $7 and $5. Unfortunately, I can't tell which rebate is for a given DVD from the website, but I'm being shorted $3. What's the deal guys? Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow if I get a chance. |
FYE best not pull a switch.
After I bought the DVD I di dsee a sign in the store that showed The Cooler for $15.99 - $10.00 rebate = $5.99 final price. |
I just got an e-mail notice for what looks like an $8 Cooler Rebate.
I had one e-mail for $7 (either Love Actually or Haunted Mansion), another $7 e-mail, than one for $8. I remember sending in the three rebates for Love Actually, Haunted Mansion, and The Cooler on the same day. It looks like they are only giving me $8 for The Cooler, too. Granted, a $7.99 price is still good but when it says on the rebate slip and signs all over the story a $10 rebate, it is quite irritating. Maybe it's just a goof in their system. |
cooler
rebate is for ten bucks, you should contact customer service to resolve it.
sounds like a glitch. |
I picked up WMXX and I didn't notice till I got home there was no UPC sticker on the wrapper. The problem is it is a thick case and I am not sure how to handle sending in the UPC code. Does anyone have any suggestions?
|
I also received an e-mail ststing "The Cooler" rebate was only for $8 - not $10. I already contacted them and they want me to e-mail or fax proof (the original rebate slip) stating the rebate is supposed to be for $10.

Does anyone have a scan of the Cooler rebate form? I just don't think I'll make it back to the store to pick one up by the weekend...and I need it for the rebate correction.

Liquid Death,
I may be wrong but I do not think you may use a copy of a coupon. I believe you need an original from a store. You might want to call a store and inquire. Perhaps someone could pick one up and mail it to you if they are going by a store anyway. |
