A Postseason Look at NL MVP Candidates
I wanted to open an unbiased discussion of the postseason performance of the National League MVP candidates.
Barry Bonds With his family at Disney World Sammy Sosa At home dreaming about next year Luis Gonzalez At Bats: 7 Hits: 0 Runs: 0 RBI: 0 HR: 0 Strikeouts: 2 Avg: .000 Albert Pujols At Bats: 7 Hits: 2 Runs: 1 RBI: 2 HR: 1 Strikeouts: 2 Avg: .286 So who's the most valuable player of the NL MVP candidates now? |
Bonds, of course. Why do you ask? ;)
|
You're lucky I can't use personal attacks.
|
too bad post season stats dont mean anything in the mvp race
and that bonds' stats dwarfed everyone elses |

postseason performance of the NL MVP candidates?
NL MVP is for the MVP of the NL, not the MVP of two games. btw, a .000 or .286 batting average is not MVP caliber. i'd rather take BB or SS at zero plate appearances over those pathetic numbers. |
Originally posted by uberjoe Bonds, of course. Why do you ask? ;) look at the last week of the season in crunch time.... Astros whoop Cards, Giants whoop Astros, ergo, Giants would whoop Cards.... Too bad they are in a tougher division... anyone that thinks bonds doesn't deserve the MVP must have gotten brushed off when requesting an interview. Bonds had the best year of the century....nuff said.. |

Originally posted by AndyCapps I guess maybe I phrased this wrong. This thread is a discussion of the MVP candidates postseason performances. I'm not saying this should influence the MVP award(well other than the fact that you shouldn't win the award if your team doesn't make the playoffs). well in that case.. maybe we should wait two weeks.. and if the cards or arizona dont make it to the world series.. we will do a comparison of how the MVP candidates are doing at that time.. its completely ridiculous to even try looking at it this way.. I guess it follows right along that logic of thinking that if your team wins a game against the team with the best record, then it makes you the best. so I guess right now.. Cleveland is the best team in baseball? correct? |
Re: A Postseason Look at NL MVP Candidates
"With his family at Disney World" and "At home dreaming about next year" is a much better performance than "Avg: .000" or "Avg: .286"
|

Or you could say that Matt Morris, Woody Williams, Curt Schilling, and Randy Johnson are better pitchers than Mickey, Goofy, and the sheep Sammy's counting. |
Originally posted by Drink 'Til She's Cute You're lucky I can't use personal attacks. AndyCapps: You're a Grade A moron. You have absolutely no understanding of the game of baseball apart from Cardinals performance. I often disagree with others (i.e. deftones, c-man2,namja) here regarding baseball topics such as MVP, best team, etc...but at least these people actually comprehend the game and thus can hold a conversation. You, on the other hand, should just change your Mark McGwire underwear and Albert Pujols pajamas, put on some proper attire, go to the Baseball Clue Store, and tell the clerk you would like to purchase one or maybe even two non-Cards related ones. |
 Zenerdiode
Nice. Have a good life, man. :) |
