My best friend in a flight attendant for United and works out of Boston. Odds are against his plane being the one out of Boston, but I would still like to know.

ABCNews had a rep from Aon corporation, which had 20 or 30 floors at the top of the World Trade Center. She asked that all employees and their families call in to their hotline to figure out who is where.

i didn't realize that teh Solicitor General's wife was Barbara Olsen, she is often on CNN as a commentator. I just saw her on there last week! She wasn't supposed to be on that flight, but flew today instead of yesterday to be with her husband on his birthday

For those who can't get CNBC:
Sandler O'Neill & Partners - 617-603-2020
Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield - 866-761-8265
Thacher Proffitt & Wood - 800-698-4567
Also, For Bay Area people,
SFO has stopped all people coming in except for family members of those on the jet. They are holding a special area open where you can get information. They also have a few clergy on hand for consolation and services. My heart goes out to you all.

Here in Tallahassee, the American Red Cross has set up several 24/7 hotline numbers designed to help local families who are unable to contact their family members in affected areas due to jammed phone lines. To find out if your area has a similar service available, call your local information and referral line or local crisis helpline. These numbers can usually be found near the front of most phone books.

I've heard of Daniel Lewin (cofounder of Akamai Technology) being on one of the planes that went down and Barbara Olson, wife of the solicitor general, was also one of the victims. Any one else identified yet?
I hope I don't sound ghoulish with that question, but being far away from there and being at work where there's no non-stop CNN TV feed, it's hard to get a good idea of the magnitude of what has happened here in human terms. Still trying to track down a few friends I know that live in NYC.

This is what I find most disturbing about this act. These people were thinking they were on their way home or L.A., only to become, in a word, martyred. NO ONE deserves to die that way. Parents, teens, children, girlfriends, boyfriends, lovers, all types were kidnapped and murdered for the cause of madmen.

Sadly, a professor from my college (MIT) and founder of Akamai Technologies was on one of the WTC planes.
And, a mother of a friend who is a cox on our school varsity crew team was on one of the planes. Just tragic.
