Police Academy (UK, region-free)?

Is this available anywhere?

Not on Amazon and couldn’t even find on eBay. Would love to get hands on what sounds like a great version...

All 7 movies as a Blu-Ray box set for roughly $29 and change.

From Amazon UK and it's region free.

Really don’t care about others...

ok, thanks guys. Amazon listing says release in 2013, so wasn't sure the original with extras that was recently reviewed at bluray.com was there. really could care less about 2-7 though...

Re: Police Academy (UK, region-free)?

2 and 3 were IMO actually really funny. 4 was Carey Mahoney/Steve Guttenberg’s last appearance and it was decent.

I didn’t even know they made 7 of these fucking things. 1 is just classic and that’s it for me...

Wait, is there an American version on American site or only UK?

I think UK only. I have the boxset and it is worth it. Just get it and never have to worry about asking another Police Academy question again.

US Amazon link:

$20.99 and Prime shipping. Looks like it's the same UK set.

Oldboy, I bought this set from Amazon UK several years back and it is awesome. The PQ is solid and I think you will find the sequels are a pleasant surprise. This is one of literally only maybe not even 4 home video sets I ever bothered to purchase the import version of because it was (and still is) a bargain at the time I picked it up and I felt it may never get an official Region 1/A North America release in HD.

I was even able to add it to my personal collection easy peasy...I will just leave it at that. Buy it...you will laugh and be a happy camper.

do the others have any extras or just the first?

If you’ve seen the sequels, you’ll realize only the first one needs extras.

If the lack of extras on a string of Police Academy sequels is what is preventing you from picking up a fun set of movies for an average of around $3 per blu ray than you are no longer talking yourself into but out of buying the set. You only get so much when a blu box set is that cheap...it has been a while since I had the box in front of me but I could have sworn at least one or two films had at least some EPK type extras.

Oh well, I have already put enough effort into trying to convince you that the set as priced is a great deal, extras on not.

I saw Police Academy 2 in the theater and it is still a fun rewatch.

You have the right to remain silent. The right to a court-appointed attorney. You have the right to sing the blues. You have the right to cable TV. You have the right to sublet. You have the right to paint the walls. No loud colors.

Huh? Are you confusing me with Oldboy? I haven't said anything bad about the set. In fact, I've had this set for a while.

I think he was talking to me. I got it, we cool. Thanks for input. But, I know 3-7 will go untouched most likely. And curious as to any extras on others, as some sites have differing opinions...

Oopsie...yeah, was talking to Oldboy. I will say this...it always struck me as odd that no one ever picked up the North American rights to put this set on blu ray, especially considering how many boutique labels have popped up over the past 5-6 years. You have Mill Creek, Shout, Kino, Twilight Time (maybe not their usual type of film they would release on blu, but still...they make the list), burned on demand from WB/Amazon, and many others.

Heck, I think with the exception of Police Academy 1 I have not seen the other films available in HD on streaming sites like Hulu or Netflix (or maybe I am not looking hard enough).

Don’t worry Inhumans. I bought it to upgrade my DVDs.

I bought the UK set from Amazon Spain for 10 Euros a few weeks ago. It went up in price to 20, but it is still available.

^ It's still on amazon.com too. $20.99 with prime shipping.

Most of the sequels do have an extra other than commentary. Even if few minutes that’s pretty good. Maybe I will watch them...

Re: Police Academy (UK, region-free)?

3 and 4 were fun watches, the whole Citizens on Patrol thing was done well. It's 5,6, and 7 that were just plain ridiculous. If they ever had a 4 in 1 for just 1-4, I'd probably do that.
