Smurfs 1-5 DVD SET Pal
Decent deal for the set that is not available in the states
Read a review that the R2 set has modified music and other stuff, can anyone comment? I hate when companies change stuff like this and will not partake if it is the case.

Anyone able to confirm if these are locked for Region 2, or if they will also play in Region 1?
Also, the episode guide list that I found says that the Johann & Peewit episodes are not included in the Season 2 & 3 sets, but I also don't see "Handy's Kite" on the Season 3 set. Might just be missing from the list I saw online.

Too many questions for me to shell out $80 right now.....but want ti so so bad!

The company releasing the season 1-5 set (Fabulous Films) is the same company selling individual seasons, so I'd expect it to just contain the original five keep cases in a box. And reviews of the single seasons complain about missing episodes (so much for "complete"), heavily altered music, and Photoshopped titles (which I could live with). I wouldn't own up to it anyway

The seasons sets released on DVD in Australia have similar issues (different opening sequences, new titles card), and have annoying packaging too.
The Johann & Peewit episodes were only included in the Ultimate Collection 1 & 2 DVD sets in Australia, were are out of print now.

Hmm, so I don't misunderstand, is the music over the opening titles the only music that's changed? Once the story segments start, is the soundtrack left intact?

The DVD releases in Australia are the best option, if you want most or all of The Smurfs series. All nine seasons are still available on DVD in Australia, minus those extra The Johann & Peewit episodes.
