You must be trying to play a Region 2 DVD with Region 1 software. You will have to look at the software you are using to play the DVD and then see if you can change the region. Some old programs let you but for more recently, they won't let you at all or will only let you change it so many times.
Try searching the internet to find a crack that will disable the region checker or find some new software that will let you play any region
