where to sell a region 2 dvd?
Hi all,
I accidently picked up a region 2 dvd. It is brand new and in manufacturer's wrap. What places can I list this dvd on, so I can sell it? thanks for your help! |

You can't return it? It's still shrinkwrapped.

Sadly, no, I can't return it because I bought it at an annual booksale, and didn't discover it was the wrong region until I got home.
I didn't want to go the ebay route. Has anyone sold anything on amazon.uk? How does that work, payment wise? |
Re: where to sell a region 2 dvd?
If you're outside Region 2, selling on Amazon UK will likely be prohibitively expensive due to shipping, even if they allow foreign sellers.
What's the disc? People buy and sell R2 DVD's in our DVD Exchange folder all the time. |
Re: where to sell a region 2 dvd?
Amazon UK doesn't allow foreign sellers, you have to have a UK address to sell.
I've had some Region 2 discs of movies that I watched and would probably not watch again that I had a hard time getting rid of. Eventually I went the Ebay route and was able to shift them, but just be sure you REALLY make it clear these are Region 2 PAL discs. |
Re: where to sell a region 2 dvd?
There are certainly marketplace sellers on the UK site who ship from the US, but maybe they have a "UK address" on file so they can sell (they are usually large outfits). That said, yes, postage/fees, etc would likely be prohibitive unless it's a rare, OOP title.
If it's not rare/OOP, then really the best options are eBay, the 'trade' section here (or on other forums), or hack your player and keep it! |
