First of all let me say that amazon are great and they are not to blame in this instance. I use them because of GC's and also because they ship via Europe, therebye bypassing customs. How unlucky am I? My last order consisted of 5 discs and shipment was delayed by a release date being put back a week. Amazon, as a very nice gesture, informed me they would upgrade my shipping at no extra cost to me. Great, I thought. They arrived today in the hands of a UPS rep along with a customs bill for £15!!!
...apparently 'International Priority Shipping' comes directly from the USA, so those bastards...I mean those nice customs people get their grubby hands on them. Well, maybe I should have realised but I didn't expect it. So just beware, Amazon were trying to do me a favour, and I thank them for their kindness, but their favour has cost me £15! ...I still can't grumble too much, it brings my total dvd expenditure up to £15 since the demise of Reel. p.s They also managed to send me a film I didn't order, which they asked me to keep, and they are sending me the correct one by...'International Priority Shipping'...uh oh!!! |
Fortunately I've never been caught out with the speedy shipments.
I must confess, although more expensive, I only ever order one disc at a time... |
that happened to me as well. amazon decided to be nice and upgraded my shipping option, and i got stuck with a 10$US charge from canadian customs..

you know what you can do.... call up amazon, and tell them that you got charged and usually you don't. i did this, and they sent me a 10$ gc to cover that
