First it was reel.com that shafted International customers buy not fullfilling preorders and refunding useless GC+SC now Firstlook will not email GC To International customers(except Canada)
Here's the email I recieved:

All our Rewards are only applicable to FirstLook.com members who live in
the U.S. and Canada. We were previously allowing our International
members to redeem for gift certificates sent out via e-mail, but we are
no longer able to do so. Our lawyers have asked us to stop all
redemptions made internationally, but hopefully in the future we will be
able to reward our loyal members around the world. Please continue to
enjoy FirstLook.com and we invite you to continue to earn points for
future reward opportunities!

Did you try to redeem your points and got e-mail after it? I redeemed mine about a day ago and saw only USA and Canada on country list. But didn't notice any warning and points were taken from my account and I got confirmation e-mail.

i got the same thing as dvd_fan. an email confirmation and the gc will be sent to my email account.. i hope it will arrive soon...

Yeah, just sign up for a Yahoo or Hotmail account (or any of a variety of others) and use that. How can they know?

Did you get that email message after you applied for the Amazon GC?
Because i applied for one last week and got a confirmation message saying i'll get it in 2-4 days via email, though i've yet to see it thus far.

Yeah, way to scare me! My first reaction was oh great Firstlook is going out of business. I'm still waiting for a $20 Amazon GC and I'm well in the process of getting another one. THat would really suck if they shut down, but I don't think that could happen, seeing how their site is easily profitable towards them.

Well it gets worse. I emailed yesterday asking after a $20 GC ordered on the 9th June. I got the following response:

This made me feel insulted. I have emailed then and said as much. I copied in the president of Firstlook as well.

Firstlook sucks!! don't bother with them anymore, go with Jaboom,more fun and interesting, firstlook's site is too loaded with flash stuff and bogs down the computer to almost a halt.., why did they have to change the website anyways??

Oh well, looks like I will be expecting one of those mails very shortly as I've requested a GC about a week ago and have not recieved anything back yet.

What is irriating is that Firstlook has changed the rules in the middle of the game. I've done the clicking, they've got the cash and I just see this as a way of them making money. If Firstlook are to persue such a policy they should make the fact that their rewards are available to only USA & Canada a lot more visible on their site. (Though whether they do this is another matter, as it is in their interests for International visitors to waste their time clicking their links for nothing.)

This has kind of messed up my plan to use Amazon/Firstlook as my replacement for Reel/Brandsforless. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/frown.gif

All I did was my 125 points a day.
No tricky "double pointers", only one account.
Was honest all the way, including where I live.
I applied for the GC nearly 2 weeks before they changed the rules.
...and my transaction is questionable?
WHY?
I have had no reply yet, it is about 11 hours after emailing them.

A question to some computer geek: If you use an American adress, is it not possible for Firstlook to just check your IP number to verify that you do not live in the USA? I'm not sure, but I think so at least. Please give comments, if you know better than I do.

IP tells you something, but (correct me if I'm wrong) I think at my work, the firewall masks the IP, and refuses to show it completly,....or something... I suppose...

Then it couldn't be tracked, but my guess is why the h*** would they bother to do such hard transaction. Can't just imagine what they can lose with international users....

At this time, Amazon is the only current reward offered at Firstlook
available to our International users. All other Rewards are applicable to
residents of the United States and Canada only. Sorry for the confusion and
