Notice to United Kingdom shoppers.

This is from the DVD Dynamic web site, and should help those who are waiting for orders sent around 25-29th May. I'm guessing it applies to all online stores, not just DVD Dynamic:

"We have just been made aware that all parcels being delivered to Heathrow from May 27 to May 31 2000 have been held up by customs and should be released shortly. We thank you for your patience and all parcels should be received shortly. "

I suppose some of us are going to be in for an expensive time soon, then.

Wonder if this "blitz" was to reassess the number of chargeable packages that are being imported? I heard that posties are being really stretched by the amount of internet shopping that's happening. It's only going to get worse, too, with all these free/flat-rate tarrifs coming out...

Perhaps my Sleepy Hollow will turn up too. Having said that, the 30 days since shipping is up tomorrow, so I should be able to get it reshipped. That'll be very interesting considering Buy.com's current refusal to acknowledge a world outside of the US.

Order from Amazon (ships from Europe) or make sure you don’t buy more than £18 at one time, then there’s nothing that customs can do.
