Saw the refer a friend thing on the main board today for the U.S. Suprisingly the UK site has the same thing, for £5, even better...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...nd-login-page/

Does anyone know if Amazon.co.uk convert firstlook coupons, or any other Amazon.com coupons for that matter. It's worth a try, since DVDexpress Europe does it...

Nope, I tried and pleaded with them and they said they were seperate sites so you couldn't swap them. Even though they're the same people and the sites look the same and probably use the same damn systems.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has tried to refer a friend from an amazon account that hasn't been used to order anything yet. I.e. register with your hotmail address, refer your main email, register with your main email address and get both £5 this way? Does this work or can you only refer friends when you have ordered something from them?

Cheers

I've heard from a number of people that they convert the US$ coupons/GC's to the equivalent number in Euros. No idea about the truth behind this though...

I do know for sure though that they have a 10euro off a 25euro purchase, which isn't bad.

I believe I was the one who discovered about being able to swap dvdexpress coupons. If you have a code for the american site, e-mail it to the european site and they will change it (eg a $10 american coupon will be exchanged for a 10 euro coupon). The exhange rates were very close but they've slipped apart a bit for dollars and euros to pounds so I'm not sure if you lose a bit or gain some. The best thing I found was that if the american coupon had a minimum limit of, say $25, the new coupon won't have it

You will be able to type this coupon code in on the last page of the check-out process. Don't forget to click on the button that says "USE THIS COUPON" to get the discount on your order.

Subject: EXPRESS.COM Coupon for euro.dvdexpress.com
Date: 04/20/00 08:26:52

Hi euro.dvdexpress.com,

My name is (edited) and I am a customer of www.dvdexpress.com.
I am planning to purchase some R2 discs from euro.dvdexpress.com and would
like to ask for some assistance.

With my account at www.dvdexpress.com, I have an unused coupon/store credits
of US$ 10 that I would exchange/convert to its Euro equivalent to be used
for my purchase with euro.dvdexpress.com

The information of my unused coupon is below (of which you can check the
eligibility)

>
>Here's your coupon:
>
>Amount: U.S. $10.00
>
>From: EXPRESS.COM
>
>Coupon code: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX (Keep this number handy when checking out,
>you'll need it to redeem your coupon with purchase.)
>
>Expiration date: 09/31/00
>Notes on using your coupon: Each coupon has a unique code that can only be
>used once. Coupons cannot be applied to orders already placed with us.
There
>is a limit of one coupon per customer. Coupons are not redeemable for cash
>and cannot be transferred. Taxes, shipping and handling are the
>responsibility of the recipient. We will not be able to retrieve or reissue
>the coupon number if your shopping session is not completed.
>
>
> The fine print:
>
> This coupon will expire at 11:59 p.m. (PST) on September 31, 2000.
>
> Coupon valid with purchase of $25 or more.
>

Your help and possibility on converting this coupon is very much
appreciated. I am looking forward to my purchase at euro.dvdexpress.com

Sincerely,

me"
