Re: [Rec] 2 Available yet?

yeah it might actually be a New Zealand exclusive. but the fact of the matter is that the disc is out now and i wasn't playing an april fool's on anyone! far out! :s
i haven't actually bought it yet myself, but the back of the blu-ray case says region 4 so basically just copied from the dvd and i unfortunately cannot confirm whether it's region free or not. it is 1080p though

Re: [Rec] 2 Available yet?

Blu-ray is NZ $40 (about 28 US), and I believe the dvd is NZ$30, though may have been a couple of dollars cheaper than that at jb hi-fi.

Re: [Rec] 2 Available yet?

I sent an email to the company that put out the NZ blu-ray, asking about the region coding. Here's their response:

The [REC] 2 Blu-Ray is a Region B Blu-Ray unfortunately, playable on all New Zealand, Australian and European players

Understandably, Kiwis object to being called Aussies... please take more care with your sobriquets

PS) And, yes, I've noticed the sleepy lunar feline and acted accordingly

Re: [Rec] 2 Available yet?

Has the Spanish BD (Filmax/WB release) been confirmed for Region Code? I know their BD release of the first film was Region Free but was 1080i/50hz.

There is a seller on Ebay selling (supposedly) the Spanish BD and has it listed as Region Free. Though to be fair the same seller also has [REC] Spanish Import (first film) and mentions on the page that it is 1080i/50hz and won't play on PS3's.

Re: [Rec] 2 Available yet?

I took the plunge and bought both the REC & REC 2 Blu Ray discs from the seller on Ebay. I really, rally enjoyed the first film and am hoping that the second will at least equal the first. It doesn't have to surpass it.

Nice!

I thought about upgrading my 2-Disc UK release of [REC] and buying the 2nd film, but it's a little pricey. Then again that seller is selling both a little cheaper than if you were to actually import them yourself.

The first film got passed on for a Blu-Ray release and now Magnet I believe has the rights to the 2nd film in the U.S. Who knows if they'll opt for a BD release for it.

Haven't ordered from them, but I took this link from HiDefDigest's review of the Spanish Blu-Ray (Region Free with English Subs)

Re: [Rec] 2 Available yet?

I know I'm being lazy, but is there a region-free Blu-ray available for [rec]? I've seen some that say they are region-free, but claim that you need a player that can do 1080i/50, which I'm guessing Sony can't.

Hopefully this will help out. It's from the Blu-Ray.com forums and the post compiles all the specs of the BD releases of [REC] so far.

Re: [Rec] 2 Available yet?

I just checked Amazon and didn't see an American REC2 DVD released yet. Any news on that or the UK one?
