John Carpenter's "The Ward" now coming out October 10th 2011
It was supposed to be released next week in the UK, and now, Warner have pushed it to October. Apparently they said they created a wrong aspect ratio master, and have to re-do it? 5 month seems more like they want to cash in during Halloween season.
Still, been waiting for this one and this news just blows....

Fuck. I was totally going to buy that, too. Now it's coming out on my bday. By that time it'll probably be on BD here.

Any word on how good this movie is? I guess Carpenter stayed away from the game so long even he can't get one of his movies released in theaters. I'm interested in seeing it, one can hope Carpenter can bounce back and make an old school flick.

Still not released in America. Apparently in July though. Review copies apparently were sent out, and it appears to be open matte 1.78:1. Looks like if you got a screener copy, you'll have to put black tape over your screen to get the Carpenter effect....

I own every Carpenter movie (theatrical & tv), so I'll bite even if there's gonna be no US theatrical release. Can't be worse than Ghosts of Mars.

Yeah, and sadly in its own campy way, I liked Ghosts of Mars. So, once I find a good import price (and not region locked), that's the way I'll go.

Ghosts of Mars is one of the few dvds I despised so much I ended up trading it in. I usually keep everything, even if it is mildly entertaining. I am a huge John Carpenter fan, but that movie was dreadful.
