Earlier hitchcock dvds

does anyone know what are the best transfers out of the below dvds for each film?

The Man Who Knew Too Much - 1934 version

Carlton UK disc or the Network UK disc?

Secret Agent - 1936

Carlton?

You'll find the most in-depth comparison here.

For my money, I'm happy with the Carlton versions.

thanks for the link, screenshots to some of the Carlton discs appear to be down.

Any noticeable issues with the Carlton versions?

I know that Wal-Mart has a 20 movie set of early Hitchcock films for $5. Can't imagine that they would be the best transfers, but you never know.

The link provided above is pretty complete comparing the full gamut - even the PD titles. If it's a matter of transfer quality, you cannot go wrong with the Carlton's or the German set (now OOP).
