R2 DVD won't play on multi-region player, but will on computer

I'm in the USAF stationed in England currently, and as such have a Panasonic DVD-S53 Player purchased from the Base Exchange that is factory-unlocked to play discs from any region. I've had no problem playing any NTSC/Region 1 discs from my collection purchased stateside, and no problem playing PAL/Region 2 discs I've purchased from British stores, until I tried playing the "House MD" Season 1-3 box set. Whenever I attempt to play these discs, I'm able to view the first episode on each disc fine even though it starts over two minutes into the episode. Whenever I try to play any other episode, I get a "no play" error on the DVD player and aren't able to view it... usually with it then going back to the first episode and playing it, starting at the same point over 2 minutes in the disc.

My DVD player manual states for the "no play" error it is either "you inserted a disc the unit cannot play, insert one it can.; you insterted a blank disc.; or you inserted a disc that has not been finalized."

This has really puzzled me, and I thought the discs themselves might be bad until I tried to play them in my (US) computer, where I was able to view all the episodes just fine after changing the region.

Does anyone know anything I could try to get these to work? I'd rather not watch them on my 15" laptop when I have my 37" LCD and upconverting player!

It sounds like the player is messed up. Bring the discs to the store, and tell them about the problem with the player you bought from them. Ask if they can test it out on another machine and see if there's a difference.

If other models have the same problem then it has to be the discs themselves.
