I just got my Withnail & I in today. I read that it was supposed to be in a steelbook case, but my copy just came in a regular clear amary case. Anyone who ordered this one recently get the steelbook? It's not a big deal really, I was just kinda excited about it before opening the package.

Nice picks. Since Japanese cinema seems to be one of your areas of interest, the MoCs of Naked Island, Humanity and Paper Balloons, Vengeance is Mine (w/exclusive Tony Rayns commentary) and Funeral Parade of Roses are also worth checking out.

From ezydvd.com.au:

Tenko, series two and three, four discs each set, with shipping US$22.xx combined. Strange that this series, which A&E used to repeat ad nauseum back in the mid 1980s, is not available in R1.

I have Vengeance is Mine, both the MoC and Criterion. I might still pick up Naked Island, there are a few MoC discs on sale at Amazon that I'm considering.

Naked Island is a super movie. Others say its very boring. I can see both sides of the argument.

FWIW you might want to do some price shopping at BlahDVD: a couple of the DVDs on your list, e.g., La Belle Noiseuse and Histoire De Marie et Julien, could be had at nearly half the price. Moreover their shipping rate is £1/DVD so there is no need to accumulate a big order to defray any per-order charge. Much of my recently acquired UK releases were from them.

Thanks for the heads up, their Artificial Eye prices are fantastic! I was able to cancel all of the more expensive AE discs from my open Amazon orders. You saved me quite a bundle, much appreciated.

How long does their shipping take, usually?

Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7

Maybe a couple days longer than domestic, but nothing too bad. They're legit and should get you your stuff promptly. Sometimes Amazon.uk beats Amazon.com's shipping times, so it's hard to compare with that.

Their shipping time for in-stock items has been comparable with that of Amazon.UK. One thing is I do not always get shipping notification emails but I have found order status info on their web-site to be pretty accurate and reasonably timely.

Blahdvd is excellent. It usually takes a week to the US. I just ordered a couple of BD disks on their 2 for 1 at 10 pounds even (with shipping). Thats only $14 per BD.
