Color me very happy to have pre-ordered this...of course, cue the Weinstein Brothers announcing this set within a week of me receiving it.

Ok, so it's impressive looking. So does this set include all the trailers out there? Does it have footage the other versions don't have? Is the reason to get this just the packaging and the edited down theatrical version?

This collection features the prior 2-disc release versions of Death Proof and Planet Terror, PLUS the full theatrical Grindhouse WITH trailers and a sixth extras disc.

Simply put, it's everything Grindhouse on DVD.

Ordered this from HMV Japan. I can't wait anymore for the Weinstein Company to announce their titles on HD DVD.

I just pre-ordered from Amazon.co.jp for $84.45/shipped.

If CDWOW wasn't have so many problems I would've ordered it there for a couple of bucks less, but I'd rather pay more to make sure I actually receive it. Hear that Kevin?

If they announce any sort of R1 version of this between now and March when this one is released, I'll cancel my pre-order for this Japanese edition, but I highly doubt that will even happen.

It's not like I'm hurting for money, but $85 is not worth it for, essentially, an alternate cut of movies I already own. Not to mention, it'll be release here eventually.

Me too. Hell, R1 still doesn't have Kill Bill (uncut)

Does CD Japan charge you when you place the order or when the item ships?

I'd say for 85 bucks just pray the packaging remains intact and that the discs don't come loose in transit when it makes its way from East to West.

This is also available on yesasia.com but it is $102.75, free postage though anywhere in the world.
From the UK it is a good site to order from. Very quick delivery. 21st March release date apparently.

I'm having second thoughts. What's the chances of getting the full Grindhouse on Blu Ray any time soon. Are the Weinsteins still looking for a payoff from Sony?

If they are, that boat has long since sailed!

for the record Death Proof looked very impressive in broadcast 1080i High Def!

Death Proof - STARZ-HD

question: granted it's only a few seconds in deletion, but is there any guess that the 'Thanksgiving' trailer on the six disc Japanese release will be the uncut version, as the trampoline scene got cut due to MPAA demands.
