deluxe versions of PANS LABYRINTH
well, I was snooping around and found:
a German 3 disc set-bound like the Korean 2 disc set, with a 100 (Page?)
booklet (lateral)
But the French-they will not be outdone-they burp on your so-called "Special Editions"
They present a FIVE disc set with a rather ominously large book, the soundtrack, and -get this-an HD/HD DVD of the fim included.
THE sad part is neither have english subs available

the 2 disc R3 SE for comparison

DVD Talk Platinum Edition
I have the R3 Korean. The movie has English subs, but the extras do not. That aside, it's some pretty cool pckaging, which is pretty much the only reason I bought it over R1.

yeah, at least they give you Ophelias key, a bookmark, and a @ 20-odd page booklet;
Those Koreans are pretty damn consistantly creative in cover desing considering they have such a small market to draw thier profits from.
Here they hem and haw, whine, do a half assed job, or nothing at all-excepting the few odd cases*-and there are MILLIONS of potential buyers.
the double life of Veronique went all out with a 3 disc box and booklet, done in that very nice smooth 'finished' paper/carboard 2 discs of the fim and the 3rd the soundtrack. It was very similar in design to the Criterion, but I think the Korean came out first from alto/MK2
Almost seems they have a fear of not spending ONE PENNY more than the have to on a product-maximize profits.
*BladeRunner
James Bond
and a couple others
