Picked this up (French edition) on Friday - luckily, the store I went to had a single copy hidden away in the racks. I haven't watched it yet, but have taken a quick look at both discs; the print used for the transfer on the film doesn't look exactly flawless IMO, but still looks pretty fine. The extras on disc 2 seem OK, and I've watched some of the Chereau/Thompson interview which is quite interesting. The French HoH subs on the film look OK, for those whose decision may rest on this aspect. As expected, no subs of any kind are present on disc 2.
On the whole, I'm pretty happy with this (although when I'll find 2.5 hrs to watch the film is another matter); it's nicely-packaged, and I'm glad that I've held off buying any version of this film up until now (which wasn't easy, as I've always wanted it in my collection.)

Dazza.

Hi everybody!

Could sy help me, what are the exact extras on this edition?
http://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/f33749_la_r...collector.html

Aka how much Daniel Auteuil is in it?? (Maybe in tournage, scenes coupées, and also in the director's cut some more scenes...)
He is one of my favourite actors, he is the reason I watched this film.

Thanks in advance! Merci beaucoup!

The main selling point here are the discussions with Chereau and Thompson. Are you fluent in French?

The 7 deleted scenes are fine but nothing really groundbreaking as far as I am concerned. There is more of Auteuil in the director's cut than there is in the cut scenes. For that along I would pick the French disc. Yet, keep in mind that English subs are not present.

Hope this helps,
Pro-B

Thanks for the info..
I am not fluent, I just started to study it bc of Daniel Auteuil, I hoped there would be a interview with him, or sg like that...

PS: anybody knows why I cannot put an avatar for myself?
