Ridley Scott's 1492: What's the best DVD version out there?

What's the best DVD version of 1492 - the Australia one or the German one? All I care about is good anamorphic video and good surround sound with no forced subtitles. I don't care about extras...

I have the Brazil region 0 edition which has anamorphic video and 5.1. The picture quality could be better, but not bad. The disc has some interviews as well. I also have the Korean Region 3 editon which sport good picture quality but only 2.0 sound. It does come with a cd of the great Vangelis soundtrack. I never looked into the Australian or German releases though. Neither of these releases has any forced subtitles.
