French DVD of THE FOUNTAIN, with DTS question

Does anyone know if the French DVD version of THE FOUNTAIN has better audo/video quality than the Region 1 DVD? And according to DVDrama's screencap at http://www.dvdrama.net/fiche.php?8206, I'm assuming French subtitles are forced when watching with original language?

TF1 are notorious for their imposed subs. At the same time however some of the imposed subs TF1 have had on their discs (read: not burnt-in) are succeptive to removal. The French TF1 disc of Anna Karenina comes with fixed subs but they could be turned off depending on the player.

In this case unless you have the disc in your hands and spend some time playing with it, and your player, I don't know whether or not you will know for sure. It's a toss-up!
