Can you take a European HDTV back to the USA?

I know this topic could be in the Hardware section, but I may have my question answered better by the foreign DVD folks - Can you take a European HDTV back to the USA? I'm thinking about buying a European LCD HDTV. Are they all compatible to be played in USA or do I need to find a Multi-region HDTV? And if so, does anyone recommend a good Multi-region HDTV?

I'm assuming that, besides the HDTV needing to be dual-voltage compatible, do the TVs also need to be dual PAL/NTSC?

Wouldn't this be a terrible deal due to the VAT?

I admit I'm not fluent in all this.

(Not to mention the whole electricity thing).

HDTV, for the most part, is HDTV though. There's different "types" but it's not as bad as PAL/NTSC iirc.

Should be ok, just have to make sure its dual voltage and you will have to use a external tuner. I did the same thing but in reverse.US HDTV to europe, it's been her now for almost 5 years. At that time i dont think there was no HDTV's in europe, so i probably had one of the first
