Babel R3 dvd

Just got the Babel Region 3 Korean dvd.

It has 3 discs: 1st for the feature, 2nd for the supplements, & 3rd for the soundtrack.

The 2nd disc is quite impressive as it is similar to a video diary of making the film, and is divided by the locations wherein the movie was shot. Director Inaaratu pretty much narrates the whole thing and this documentary goes on for probably close to 90 mins. The other extra features on the 2nd disc are the English & Korean trailers and a short "making-of" with again the director explaining the concept of the movie.

The downside to this is that the whole video diary is subtitled in Korean (which can be turned off). Inaaratu's narration is often in Spanish and of course, Japanese language as well during the Tokyo scenes.

I can understand Japanese but my Spanish is quite hazy so it was still tough for me to understand what the director wanted to convey.

Overall, the whole set is very impressive and really makes you realize once again that it is only under Region 1 dvds that studios have decided to double, triple, quadruple release a film.
