Lights in the Dusk (Kaurismaki)

The Scandinavian release for Aki Kaurismaki's latest Laitakaupungin valot a.k.a Lights in the Dusk isn't English-friendly but AE are releasing this theatrically in the UK on April 6th. Speculated date for the DVD is mid-August. Will post more when it becomes available.

Thanks for posting this. I was very disappointed when I found out the Scandinavian release was sans English subs.

Surprise!
I wrote Laserdisken (after finding out the Finish dvd is with English subtites), asking them to check for English subtitles by playing the dvd, after doing so they discovered the dvd is indeed English friendly.
They also updated the info on their website.

I ordered a copy, I will confirm soon.

This is very strange! To say the least!

Sandrew's official press release specifically noted that there are no English subs. If they were wrong then...what a surprise!

for those in the Washington Area - it's playing tonight (4/26) at FilmFest DC.

limited US release begins mid-June.

So how is this disk? I see that I can get the Sandrew Metronome disc through Xploited but the that the Artificial Eye one is not coming out for a few days still. Any reviews out there for the AE version? Will is most likely be a port of the Metronome one? Thanks in advance....
