List of places to buy Region 2 -- and others...

Hey all,

I am sure there's a list somewhere here, but I cannot find it. Are there any US online retailers that sell region 2 dvd's? Or are they all out of country?

Either way, what are the best places (besides Amazon) to purchase Region 2 DVDs? My Grandma is a huge British film fan and wants to get some region 2 dvds for her region free player....

Thanks

Matt!

www.cd-wow.com are one of the best on the price front. New releases can be slow to get out to you but quick delivery and excellent service on the whole.

Making use of some of the discount links and/or vouchers means great deals can be had :)

Diabolik is a US retailer, but their prices reflect that they are re-sellers. Sometimes some good deals can be found at CD-WOW, a Hong Kong retailer that offers DVDs from around the world. But really, for British films, your best bet is Amazon.co.uk. They take off VAT for shipments to the US (although items sold by Amazon Jersey already have the VAT taken out of the list price), and delivery is usually very prompt.

However, most British films are released in Region 1 (TV shows are another matter). Always check Amazon US before importing a film, to see if it can't be had cheaper. And DVD Compare is very helpful in determining which Region's release is the one you want.

Many Region 2 titles are released in Region 4 as well. I've gotten some great deals at EzeDVD in Australia, Deadwood season one and two for $37 USD each delivered for example.

Another big  for both amazon.co.uk for R2, and ezydvd for R4.

Both offer terrific (and fast) service, and both deduct their local taxes from the prices shown for items shipped to the U.S.
