César Awards 2007
Watched this on Canal+ on Saturday. Surprised and disappointed with best film winner...
Best film, adapted screenplay, actress (M. Hands): "Lady Chatterley". Actor: F. Cluzet. Supp. Actor: Kad. Supp. Actress: V. Lemercier (also hosted the event!) Director: G. Canet. Original Screenplay:"Indigènes". http://www.lescesarducinema.com/ Dazza. |
Obviously I did not have the opportunity to follow the event live but did read about it in other French forums. I will be honest with you: there are some very strange picks this year and though I have not seen all films to make a final comment I have been reading quite a bit and to put it mildly this isn't an impressive selection of films.
Ecranlarge had a detailed coverage. Pro-B |
Yep, I'd agree with that, Pro-B. As I mentioned in the first post, I was really shocked and annoyed to see "Lady Chatterley" win so many, inc. best film. I was quite pleased to see Canet win as at least his film has been a genuine success and people have been enthusiastically turning out for that one. I feel Cécile de France should have won for either of her best actress noms (preferably for "The Singer"), and all in it made for a disappointing evening's viewing...
