I saw this in theaters. (I was the only one in the theater, that's never happened before) and I really enjoyed it. I haven't checked to see if there is a turkish dvd of it but I will pick up eventually.

missed the week it played in DC as well...

would love to see this in HiDef, since it was shot with HiDef cameras, but I guess standard DVD will be fine.

English-subbed, 2-disc Turkish DVD is streeting April 6th, and available now for pre-order from Tulumba. Tulumba also has a handful of other new listings (not all with English subs unfortunately). The new one from the director of "G.O.R.A" - "Sinav" - is slated for English subs...and features a guest appearance from Jean-Claude Van Damme! Not so lucky however might be Turkey's 2007 Academy Award submission "Ice Cream, I Scream" as it isn't currently listed to have English subs....too bad.

BuddhaWake 03-26-07 05:55 AM

Tulumba doesn't often times doesn't put the subtitle information in their listings which is a shame, so its always best to verify. Also if you use the "english subtitles" filter it misses half the dvds that does indeed have them.

stalin_roy 03-27-07 11:18 AM

Tulumba also list SINAV as having Subtitles, yet Ideefixe ( much cheaper btw ) list without english subtitles.

UK DVD reviewed here

Reservoir 07-01-07 10:13 AM

Watched this earlier and thought it was brilliant. I love this type of film anyway but this was a real treat.

She should've eaten that nut :D

Apone 07-02-07 02:53 AM

Regarding the UK release, did anyone else notice the colour change (from black to varying level of grey) of the bars on widescreen/letterbox format? I highly doubt the disc is a defect but it is very distracting. Also is it only me who thought the audio was very flat and weak or is it the production quality?

Reservoir 07-02-07 03:45 AM

Never noticed much ado about the image. It looked liked HD video sometimes (maybe it is HD) and I reckon they used very few filters as it looked natural. Audio was very very basic and I wasn't expecting anything else.

Can you get a screen grab of the image problem you think is there?

my understanding of the tech specs of the film was that it wasn't shot on film but with HiDef cameras.
