Jean-Claude Brisseau LES ANGELS EXTERMINATEURS

Blaq Out are also set to release Brisseau's latest (Choses Secrets) on March 20th (subbed).

Variety blurb:

Maestro of pulse-quickening simulated sex Jean-Claude Brisseau offers a frequently funny, authentically arousing and seemingly autobiographical tale in "Exterminating Angels," the story of a too-trusting French helmer who lands in hot water for taping auditions that call for a cold shower. Brisseau trains his deft camera on the crescendo of female sexual pleasure and how women can heighten the intensity of already blissful sensations via transgressive flourishes. If exiting viewers could all be asked "Was it good for you?" the likely answer is "Yes."

Haven't seen this, but good to hear that Blaq Out are doing it - they should make a decent job of this. The GCTHV disc of "Choses secrètes" was terrible...

The Tartan disc I thought was actually much better (though it is supposedly a replica of the French print). Take a look at it

OK, thanks for the tip Pro-B. Will pick up the Tartan edition if I see it at a good price. Was quite annoyed with the "Choses" disc especially as it wasn't cheap. My "Noce blanche" disc isn't that great either, but as that one only cost me around 3€ I can't compain too much...

Can anyone confirm that this release definitely comes equipped with English subs? They're probably wrong, but a few French websites that I've visited say aucun.

Even though it's over a year old I just thought I'd dig this thread up as I finally got round to picking this one up. I thought the movie was pretty terrible, but just about worth a look; it's probably a bit better than "Choses secretes", IMO. What strikes me as unintentionally funny about it is the extremely pompous nature of Brisseau's 'response' - like, was it his fault if these pretty young things were attracted to him and eventually turned on him? Also, I couldn't help but laugh at seeing him being obviously unable to leave such material alone - presumably the situations filmed in "Les Anges" could potentially have landed him in similar trouble? My overall thought was that Brisseau should really have left all this business alone and taken his lumps on this one - all this film really does is keep the scandal surrounding "Choses secretes" alive in peoples' minds. All said, probably just about worth seeing as a very bizarre footnote to the earlier film.
Although the (no doubt excellent) Blaq Out disc has now dropped in price, I went for an ultra-cheap unsubbed disc (3€), and was pretty pleased with the sound/pic quality.
